Do you think I’ll have the “pleasant” type of dementia? Is there any way to predict? Do you think that when dementia sets in, the person usually displays the opposite of their normal personality? It’s seems that way with Charles. LOVE YOU

Hopefully, you won’t have any type of dementia! It seems that there are some ways to predict the onset of dementia, but it is usually done after age 70. I don’t know how accurate the testing would be before that age. In addition, there may be many false positives and false negative associated with the screening, so I’m unsure how accurate testing is until onset of the disease.
Your question about dementia causing the opposite personality to shine through is a very interesting idea. It seems as though most news reports about either “pleasant” dementia or “angry” dementia, patients do have a dramatic change in personality. This may be an interesting trend to follow up on, or it may be the most “newsworthy” story. It would not be too interesting if nothing was new or different. However, “pleasant” dementia isn’t mentioned much in scientific research journals yet and may be an interesting topic to explore.
Thanks for your questions!
Love you too!

Hey, I checked for new articles and see you haven’t done anything new for November. Are you getting bored with this blog or just too busy to update it?
